Dear Friends in Christ -

Yesterday's readings were all about profit and loss. With tax season and the presidential campaign upon us, and some high profile deaths recently, everyone is weighing their profit and loss.
In Saint Paul's letter to the Philippians, he writes, "I had it all. And now it is all for naught!" Instead, he recognizes that Jesus Christ is the only thing worthwhile for this life and the life of the world to come! And so, he offers these things to us:
1) "To know Christ", not as an abstract reality, but as a real person who came to earth and died for us. 2) "and the power of his resurrection", that is: God's Power on display, not only in the future, but available to us right now! 3) To "share in his sufferings and be like him in his death" - to deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow the crucified and risen Savior, that indeed we might have eternal life.
With Holy Week nearly upon us, I encourage you to join us as the story of God's Love revealed in Jesus Christ unfolds. This is the most important story in all of history and for the Christian Church - Don't miss it!

In Christ Alone -
