Dear Friends in Christ -

All around the world, events are taking place that set our minds wandering and make our hearts anxious. Over the last week there have been attacks in Paris, Beirut, a funeral was bombed in Baghdad. There were earthquakes that impacted the countries of Mexico and Japan. There are new reports coming out of China this morning that there was a major landslide. In our own country, race relations and the number of shootings has escalated so much that we could get overwhelmed.

Thankfully, Holy Cross Lutheran Church continues to be our sanctuary in the storm and our fortress for the battle. In this place, we are sheltered by the promises of Jesus and our bolstered for further witness and service in the world which God made. With the fellowship we have with one another and the promises of God declared in our services, Bible studies, confirmation, and the list goes on...We can rest assured that God is with us, he will never leave us nor forsake us! In an uncertain world, I am thankful for the certainty of the Gospel which I have come to know through our fellowship and in the sanctuary of our "little blue church".
