Dear Friends in Christ -

On Sunday, we heard from Pastor John Buuck, a representative of "Food For The Poor". FFP feeds nearly 1 million people a day in 17 Caribbean and Central American countries. He spoke candidly about the deep need for food and shelter in Haiti; the country is still reeling in the after-effects of the earthquake of January 2010.

Throughout the Scriptures, the Lord cares for the children of Israel by tending to their physical needs, that they might learn to deeply trust in him. But also, this food fills their stomachs so that the message of his steadfast love might fill their hearts. This is true of our own ministry too. We do not ask questions; instead, we support the local food shelves and the Backpack Buddies program. Later this month, we will be sending a group to Feed My Starving Children, and several of you supported FFP through our noisy offering this month. All of this, so that others might experience the love of Christ and come to hear and know the message of hope we claim for ourselves.
Feasting on the Bread of Life with you -
