Dear Friends in Christ -

Jesus said, "The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out" (John 10:3).  As I read and studied our gospel last week, I had one nagging question that always kept coming back:  "How will the sheep (that's us!) know his voice if we do not take the time to hear him?"
The last couple weeks, God has been showing me the importance of an intentional time of prayer & the Word.  Colleagues in ministry, friends, and even fellow disciples of Jesus have been challenging me to take the time to pray and hear/read/study God's Word - and as far as I know, they didn't talk to each other beforehand!  I think God is trying to get my attention!
Would you join me in this time of prayer and study?  Luther once said that because we are sinners, we hear God's call to prayer as an obligation.  But it is in our prayer time with God, that he sets us free from the worries and burdens of our days and invites us into a deeper relationship with him.  How will we know his voice?
Join me as we take time to pray together (with your family and other believers). Join me as we pray constantly (so that you become mindful that your work, play, and rest are in God). Join me as we pray intentionally (giving thanks for God's gifts, making requests for God's people, and taking time to be silent and to listen for God)?
