Dear Friends in Christ -

On Sunday, we celebrated the Feast Day of Pentecost - the day in which the people of God received the Holy Spirit with power from on high. This Holy Spirit is active and alive among us - even to this day. It plants the story of Jesus in our hearts that we might come to faith in him. It releases us from the multiplicity of our worry and exhausting to pattern our lives on the Lord Jesus Christ - his death and resurrection.
How incredible, then to have celebrated Memorial Day the next day. We give thanks for those men and women who gave their lives in service to this country and for our freedom. "Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:13). What a great gift to celebrate, and for the many freedoms we have; most importantly, the freedom to belong to Christian community and to gather at the services of God's house!
Blessings on your week -
Pastor Culynn
P.S.  A friendly reminder that our WOW services continue through the summer. If you were not able to join us on Sunday or attend services while you were away; join us for an informal service on Wednesdays at 6p - come and be filled with the Holy Spirit!
