Dear Friends in Christ -

Yesterday's encounter between Martha, Mary, and Jesus really challenged me (Luke 10:38-42); I hope you also heard Jesus' call to assess priorities, wrestle with what's most important, and ultimately to foster your relationship with Jesus through regular encounters with his Word. I offer my sermon challenge to you all again below:
"Dear friends, even the most faithful among us need a checkup on our priorities...Take a few moments this week and consider your life. Strike up the conversation with a close friend, your spouse, and even as a family. If Jesus should stop by for a visit, would you sit down at his feet and listen to his Word? OR would you keep him waiting while you run from here to there and check off a few more things on your to-do list? The Word of God is the captial-T Truth which shapes our lives. But also, The Word is where the Living God has promised to meet you! On the open pages of Holy Scripture, the Crucified and Risen Christ greets you in faith.
