Dear Friends in Christ -

posted Dec 12, 2017, 5:03 PM by Shannon Vietmeier
Yesterday, at the end of Kathy Willey's Elizabeth meditation to us, she said, "God's love is about to pay you a visit..." WOW! That little phrase reached deep into my soul yesterday, and may be the theme of Advent. While we busy ourselves with preparations, decorations, and parties; while we look with anticipatory joy toward Christmas, we celebrate that God's love has already come near.

Christ has visited us in the community that gathers at Holy Cross; we share his love and spirit when we are together. Christ has visited us in the Word of God which remains central to our ministry. Christ has visited us in the words preached, the songs sung, and the answer to our prayers. Christ has visited us through bread and wine which adorns his table in our sanctuary. Who will Christ visit as you go about your week, sharing his love in all you say and do?

Advent Blessings, friends!
