Dear Friends in Christ -

On Sunday, October 29, we will commemorate the event of Luther's posting of the Ninety-Five Theses on the door of the Castle Church in Wittenberg. You might say that this was the "Shot heard 'round the World." With the invention of the printing press, and Luther's careful study of Scripture, he began to challenge the church on the sale of indulgences.
What a privilege to live at this historic moment! Certainly, we give thanks for Luther's witness and ministry, but Sunday's celebrations are not about him. Every Sunday we honor what he re-discovered: Faith is a gift from God, on account of Christ, as it is revealed in Holy Scripture. While every Sunday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church is special because of our continued commitments to the Word of God and the Christ-centered message we proclaim, Sunday's going to be extra special!
Celebrating the Reformation!
