Dear Friends in Christ -

At the beginning of the summer, I challenged you to consider reading through the Gospel of Matthew once, twice, or even three times. A couple weeks ago, I was reading Matthew 16. While Peter's wavering faith caught my attention, it was actually the verse above that began to weigh heavily on me.

I fear that we have become distracted by many things in the world, to the detriment of our faith. We invest a lot in our families, careers, our children's activities, and before we know it, we have blown the whole wad! While we often say that we value our faith/Christian community, we often fail to prioritize it.

If you want to know what makes your pastor tick more than anything else in the world, read the verse above and then heed the warning of Jesus. Then come and be a part of the exciting things that are happening here. God's Spirit is blowing through the people of God at Holy Cross. His Word is being proclaimed and heard, and faith is being created. See how God is at work among us and how he will certainly grab hold of you for eternal life!
