Dear Friends in Christ -

It is no secret that the weekly gathering of Christians for worship is very important to me. In the last several weeks and months I have been reflecting on the importance of the services of God's house for our life of faith--both individually and as a community.

I have to admit that I needed the wisdom of another pastoral colleague to help me see more clearly about its importance. He reminded me that worship attendance is not about our obligation or duty to God. We are not required to attend church nor do we impress God by it. Rather, we are the ones who miss out when we miss church. God is the one who grants us gifts and benefits through his Word, his presence, and the community of faith.

See you in church!
